Bon Appetit - Bistrot Pierre Middlesbrough to Open in September

Bistrot Pierre is delighted to announce the official opening date for its first restaurant in the North East.

Friday 22 September will see a flavour of France arrive at Albert Road, Middlesbrough, as the independently-owned group looks to make a significant investment in its new town-centre location – transforming the site in City Square.

Seating more than 140 diners, the restaurant will offer great value French food in a relaxed bistrot setting – serving its bestselling Boeuf bourguignon maison, Côte de porc and steak-frites.

Rob Beacham, co-owner for Bistrot Pierre, who set up the group with school friend John Whitehead more than 20 years ago, said: “Middlesbrough is an ideal location for us to open a new bistrot; we’re really excited about bringing our offering to the town and expanding our reach to the North East.

“We’ll be investing significantly into the town-centre premises, which will be transformed into a beautifully-styled French bistrot and we can’t wait to open our doors in September.

“I’m confident we’ll grow a loyal customer base in the area thanks to our popular seasonal menus which use the freshest ingredients and are carefully-prepared by our talented chefs daily.”

The popular lunchtime prix-fixe menu will be available seven days a week with prices from just £9.95, £11.95 and £13.95 for one, two or three courses, as well as the two-course pre-theatre menu. An a la carte menu is also available which changes seasonally.

Letting agent Richard Wilson, of Middlesbrough independent commercial property consultants Dodds Brown said: “Bistrot Pierre provides exactly the sort of dining experience which will appeal both to residents and visitors alike and helps take the town centre’s restaurant offer to another level.”

The bistrot will create 50 new jobs in the town, with vacancies open across all areas in the restaurant.

General Manager of the Middlesbrough bistrot, Salvatore Savino, said: “We are proud that the Bistrot Pierre family is growing and that we are creating job opportunities locally in a number of front and back of house roles.

“I’ve been part of the team at Bistrot Pierre since 1996, starting out as a part-time waiter in the Derby restaurant, it’s been a fantastic place to progress my career.

“We are looking for staff in all areas so if you think you have what it takes to join our ever-growing team please visit our website and apply, we’d love to hear from you.”
